First things first, I haven’t forgotten the give-away. Things have been a bit insane so I still need to check who the winner is and contact them! Another thing I recently did, was hold a 24hr contest on the Fat Femme Fabulous Facebook. Give-aways on the FB won’t be as ‘large’ as they will be on the blog, but some of them will be exclusive so if you want to keep up to date with both, make sure to ‘like’ the page.
Okay, now that flagrant self-promotion is out of the way, let’s get this show on the road! I have noticed increasingly that whilst I have a good eye to shoot others so they look their best, knowing what to do with my own body leaves me awkward.
This is exactly the kind of picture which I like, where I am not only in control of looking nice – let’s face it who doesn’t want to feel they look their best – but usually when more of my body shows I can pose in a way that I feel has my body looking more comfortable because I can adjust here and twist that.
Now whilst this isn’t a great example because it only has my face, it still allowed me to take, without feeling I am taking up someone else’s time, in excess of twenty photographs and select one where I felt I looked the most interesting. I think as this blog continues, I may need to invest in something which allows me to take full body shots without simply standing in front of a mirror (those I save for the Facebook).
In the pursuit of different ways to pose and hold myself, something new to me as I have always been awkward in front of the camera, I have become interested in using my surroundings.
WHILST SLIM OTHERS PASS ME BY
I am lucky in that where I live there are many different looking buildings so I am spoilt for choice when it comes to different textures around me. Less luckily is that it is a rather busy area and we had to pause several times in order for people to go past. I simply do not hold the level of confidence to continue a photo-set whilst others pass me by. Being honest? Whilst slim others pass me by. Honesty is a scary thing, let me tell you… It leaves you all vulnerable and without the everyday armour. Much how I felt standing without a coat and posing for these on a cold November evening.
